Sierra Vista Piano Lessons
Meet Your Teacher — Mark Rider
I've been teaching piano for more than 44 years. My approach is patient, relaxed and individualized. Whether you're a young beginner, an adult finally starting piano, or a returning player, you don't have to worry about making mistakes here.
Lessons combine proven fundamentals with music you actually enjoy. Depending on your goals, we can work on reading, chords, playing by ear, classical music, jazz, blues, pop, movie themes and improvisation.
Serious learning. No unnecessary pressure.
Is This You?
For Children
Build skill and confidence in an encouraging environment. Students can learn the fundamentals while also exploring songs, duets, games and improvisation.
For Adults
It's not too late to learn. Start from the beginning—or return after years away—without feeling rushed, judged or embarrassed.
For Returning Players
Refresh old skills, fill in the gaps and rediscover the pleasure of making music at your own pace.

What Makes the Lessons Different?
Guilt-Free & Patient
Lessons are designed to challenge you without making you feel overwhelmed or pressured.
Learn at Your Pace
Your lessons adapt to your goals, your progress and the amount of time you realistically have to practice.
Play Music You Love
Classical, jazz, blues, pop, Broadway, movie themes, chords, playing by ear and improvisation are all available.
Choose Your Style. Learn at Your Pace.
Piano should open a musical world, not box you into one method. Lessons can range from classical foundations to Broadway, contemporary favorites, movie themes, rock, blues, jazz, chords, playing by ear and improvisation. Even young students can begin experimenting with creating their own music.
